Stelrad Radiators continue to be selected for excellent new build and renovation projects up and down the country. And increasingly the radiators are being selected to work in renewable heating systems in combination with air source heat pumps and underfloor heating on the ground floor.
This latest case study is for a renovation project in the Lake District. It’s a residential property in Keswick called Ellas Crag and it’s a conversion from a bed and breakfast property to a residential home. The 5-bed house has been fitted with a Stelrad Compact with Style vertical radiator in the kitchen and Softline Silhouettes in the bedrooms upstairs – while the downstairs is fitted with Under Floor Heating. The heating system for the house is driven by an Air Source Heat Pump.
The property is in a stunningly picturesque position with views of the Lake District in the background, including Skiddaw – the sixth highest mountain in England and Blencathra. The property is named Ellas Crag because of the area behind the house of the same name.
This is a project from Roland Hill from Wigton in Cumbria. Roland Hill Ltd is an award-winning family run business with the 3rd generation now working within the business to maintain the same level of excellent quality service it has been providing for the last 70 years. The business over time has naturally expanded and now offers services from construction to renewable energies and everything in between. The company’s main goal is to continue to provide the levels of workmanship that as a family business it has prided itself in, over the years.
“This the latest in a series of projects in the Lake District where we’ve supplied radiators to Roland Hill Limited. They are just one of the contractors we work with closely who are convinced of the value of using radiators with heat pump installations,” says Stelrad’s Lewis Aird, Specification Manager for the North. “Again, the contractor has selected radiator models from our premium panel range to give a high-quality look to each of the rooms in the property. The Lake District can be a chilly part of the country particularly in late autumn and winter months and these radiators will combine to provide the levels of comfort heating required to keep this five-bedroomed home cosy in the face of everything the area and the weather off the Irish sea can throw at it!”
