Stelrad’s bestselling Elite radiators have been selected to add warmth to a new leisure centre just a few miles from Northampton. It’s one of four centres within a ten-mile radius that have seen these excellent radiators added to their infrastructure to share heat generated from heat pumps that have been installed to offer energy efficient renewable heat to these impressive buildings.
The main contractor for the leisure centre is Briggs and Forrester Special Projects Ltd, the M&E designer is Ridge & Partners, the work was carried out for West Northamptonshire Council and financed by SALIX funding from the Government.
Stelrad’s Specification Manager for the Midlands and East Anglia is Stuart Dixon who says it’s an exciting project to be involved in: “We’ve supplied a mix of K2 and K3 Elite radiators for the project and in total there are more than thirty radiators sharing heat around the centre. The K3s are a perfect fit for the heat pump driven system and their performance adds something special to the system that has been designed for this leisure centre.”
Moulton Leisure Centre puts the health, wellbeing and enjoyment of the local community at the heart of everything it does. To help it achieve its mission of getting everyone to enjoy 30 minutes of exercise, five times a week, it’s got some of the finest facilities available. These include a 25m swimming pool, a state-of-the-art 80-station gym, a group fitness studio, a dedicated group cycling studio and a spa – including a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
The Centre has been designed to offer facilities to everyone including being accessible to disabled people with a Hearing loop, low level reception desks, disabled parking spaces, accessible changing rooms, pool hoists for hydro pools, accessible showers, accessible toilets, a moveable pool floor, lifts and a family changing area for hydro pool lessons.
