Metal Radiators FAQs
Which Metal Radiator is Best?
We couldn’t possibly pick between our huge range of stunning metal radiators, so the ‘best’ one is a difficult question to answer. Everybody has their own preference on the look, feel, orientation, colour, and style of radiator they like. As heating specialists, we can guarantee no matter which type of radiator you choose, you can trust in its performance and value for money. Some are ‘best’ depending on the room, for example, towel rail radiators are best for bathrooms or laundry rooms. Our most popular and trusted are standard steel panel radiators, but our boutique and designer options offer great modern alternatives. To ensure you pick the best for your room, make sure you measure the size of the wall and use our heat loss and radiator size calculators for recommendations.
How Do I Ensure I Choose The Right Size Metal Radiator?
Getting the right size metal radiators is important and will be determined by how big the room or hallway is and how much wall space you have. Alongside this, you’ll want to work out the British Thermal Unit (BTU) requirement needed so you have the correct size for heat output. Measure the area of the wall you want to place a new radiator, so if you have your eye on raw metal column radiators, you can ensure you have enough space for the sizes available. If it’s a vertical radiator you need, make sure you measure the full height of the wall too. You’ll need this along with the measurement between piping connections to use our radiator size calculator. Then you’ll see the radiator sizes we have that will be the best fit.
Are Raw Metal Column Radiators A Good Option?
Whilst they look great, raw metal radiators are also great heat conductors and offer something different to highly polished, metallic coloured options. With raw metal column radiators, you have the Victorian design that is also perfect against more rustic décor, such as exposed brickwork or dark paint. Whilst they may seem too industrial for some and remind of new-age restaurants and retail stores, to others they are perfect. Whilst they may appear worn and used at first glance, many are finished with a clear lacquer to avoid corrosion, great for the modern home.
