Can you remove a radiator top grille?
Yes, most Stelrad radiator top grilles can be removed if needed, such as if cleaning or needing to replace a damaged one. They are held in place by clips, so be sure to carefully remove them if necessary to avoid damaging these. If for any reason you do need to replace a flat top grille, you can find the right one for your radiator in our accessories range.
Why do radiators have a grille on top?
The main purpose of the radiator top grille is to neatly finish for aesthetic purposes whilst still allowing air to escape, compared to if it was a solid top panel. It hides the convector fins from sight whilst not interfering with heat performance. Radiators with a top grille will usually also have side panels attached that help to ‘square off’ the design.
