Leading radiator manufacturer Stelrad Radiators continues to support local charity projects and to support locally based sporting events and teams in its area of South Yorkshire. The success of its Charity and Social Forum continues to ensure that Stelrad takes its role in the local community of South Yorkshire and the wider UK seriously.
This year it is again sponsoring the annual Montagu Football Cup Final that is traditionally played on Easter Monday and usually draws an amazing crowd of in excess of 1,000 people.
The Montagu Cup was first competed for in the 1896-97 season with the final taking place in Mexborough. To this day, the Montagu Cup final, is still held in Mexborough. Traditionally this match is played on Easter Monday at 11am, at the Hampden Road ground. It is thought to be the oldest football competition still played at the same ground across more than one hundred years.
This year’s Montagu Cup final takes places on Monday 1st April between Brinsworth DC and Park View.
“We’re delighted to get involved in events and projects in the Mexborough and wider South Yorkshire communities,” says Stelrad’s Head of Marketing Chris Harvey. “We have an enviable track record of getting involved with good causes and charities that need our help and we’re proud of the achievements that we have been able to support often in a small but important way. Our employees see the Charity and Social Forum as a vital part of what they do as part of the Stelrad family and as a business we are happy to match fund the contributions the team makes and raises through the wealth of activities that happen each year.”
“We are delighted again to be sponsoring the Montagu Cup Final on Easter Monday 2024 – good luck to both teams – we hope there will be a bumper crowd in attendance to witness the final and to contribute to the fund raising that has been happening for more than 125 years!”
