Leading radiator manufacturer Stelrad Radiators has announced successful progress on its path to a more sustainable business profile with the award of a Gold Medal in 2022 from EcoVadis. EcoVadis provides a holistic sustainability ratings service for companies, delivered via a global cloud-based SaaS platform.
The EcoVadis Rating covers a broad range of non-financial management themes including Environmental, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement impacts. Each company is rated on the material issues as they pertain to their company’s size, location and industry.
Stelrad achieved a silver rating in 2021 and the award of a gold rating in 2022 shows how the company has progressed since it first signed up. Each year EcoVadis raises the threshold level for the awards, making it harder to achieve.
“Winning the Gold award is a direct result of rolling out our sustainability strategy,” says Mick Swann, Stelrad’s Sustainability Support Manager. “It’s yet another indicator that we’re on the right track as a business and that sustainability in the broadest sense of the word is being taken seriously at every level of the business.”
As well as taking a closer look at the supply chain, improving sustainability at every level in the manufacturing process and in our packaging and logistics operations, we are producing products that work well with renewable heating systems such as ground source and air source heat pumps, ensuring that our radiators continue to deliver comfort heating in line with the latest Part L regulations and that they conform to the requirements of the Future Homes Standard in 2025 when it comes into force.
