Leading radiator manufacturer, Stelrad Radiators, is proud that the steel it uses in its products is made here in the UK. The company has a great relationship with Tata Steels and its links with the company were recently confirmed when Tata asked for Stelrad to provide examples of the products they make from ‘Welsh’ steel to sit in the entrance hall of their headquarters building in Newport. Llanwern House is the energy efficient reception hub at Tata Steel’s Llanwern Works in Newport. The building has been entirely constructed using solutions by Tata Steel.
Stelrad radiators sit proudly in the building’s reception area with a door from a Hotpoint dishwasher and a door from a Nissan car – also both made from steel produced at the Llanwern Works in Newport.
The Llanwern House reception hub has been built to replace the 1960’s built Commercial Headquarters (CHQ) building on the Llanwern Site, which hosts part of the Tata Steel Strip Products UK operation, where hot-rolled, cold-rolled and metallic-coated strip steels are manufactured.
“We were pleased to respond to the Tata Steels request for our products to feature in the reception area of their HQ in Newport,” says Head of Marketing at Stelrad, Chris Harvey. “We’re delighted that so many of the raw materials we need for our products can be sourced here in the UK and the steel is of course the key ‘ingredient’ in what we do. We’ve built a good relationship with the company and we’re happy to help them with their new reception display.”
