Stelrad radiators have made their mark again on the much loved BBC TV programme DIY:SOS. This time the project was on a two bedroom bungalow that needed extending to adequately house two grandchildren moving in with their grandparents, after the tragic loss of their parents, in deepest Cornwall. Two loyal Stelrad installers decided to help out when the call went up for qualified heating installers for the project, so Steve Weston of Simon Annear Plumbing and Heating and Paul Smith at Blue Flame put in a request to work with Stelrad radiators on the project.
Brand Specialist for the South West – Steven Preston – organised for the required radiators – models from the new Stelrad Silhouette range – to be delivered via the City Plumbing Truro branch – with the help of Neil Jarman – South West Specification Manager. The radiators duly arrived and were installed during the week leading up to the reveal which took place in February. It’s not known yet when the programme will be shown, but Steven enjoyed meeting the DIY:SOS team on site and having his photo taken with Nick Knowles, Billy Byrne, Mark Millar, Chris Frediani and Jules Perryman: “As it always appears on TV, the atmosphere at the reveal was electric and very moving. These programmes really manage to make the families involved’s lives better and to get so many local tradespeople working together, for nothing, to give something back to people in their community who need their help.”
